The Fernhill Sports Ground has been home to the cricket club since 2002. The purpose built facility, on the leafy outskirts of the town, boasts two grass squares; a shared clubhouse (complete with function room, changing facilities and bar); a separate scorebox and two all weather nets. The main wicket is now serviced by double sightscreens and covers. The ground has been extremely popular with members since our move and it has become a favourite venue for Hampshire County Cricket Club colts fixtures. In 2005 the ground was awarded 'most improved venue' by the Southern Electric Premier League and the wickets continue to mature - in June 2006 Ben Edgell scored a club record 156 not out on the Fernhill strip, part of a Southern League record partnership with Ryan Bishop in a match that grossed over 600 runs. Our fantastic facilities have also continued to attract representative sides down to the south of the county, click here to find out more. |
